He went down to the cans/bathroom and watched Stradlater shave. they got to talking and Holden asked Stradlater who his date was and Holden found out it was this girl named Jane who Holden knew and he got really excited telling Stradkater things like how she doesn't move her Kings when she plays chess and all but he knew that Stradlater didn't care about any of that stuff but he still talked. Stradlater also asked Holden if he wanted to write his composition paper for him, it had to be about a room and it had to be really descriptive.
Response- I think that Holden has a crush on this Jane girl. but he won't go down to say hi to her he just sends his regards with Stradlater.
