Chapter 1

Nick Carraway is the narrator of the story and he says how his dad told him not to judge people right away. Nick lives in between two houses and they are both very big and he is over looking the sea. he lives net be this guy name Gatsby and nick doesn't really know about him at first but i think he likes him. He goes to East Egg and sees his cousin Dasiy who is married to Nicks good friend from Yale, Tom. Tom is very wealth and he has so much money he doesn't really know what to do with it and i think that he feels almost like there is somthing missing. They live with Betsy baker, who is also known as Jordan and Jordan is a professional golfer. They talk about the Gatsby because Besty knows him and also Daisy does and Betsy tells him how Daisy and the Gatsby fell in love a year before she married tom. Daisy and tom also have a little girl who is 2. Daisy is so sweet and when she talks to Nick he just says how she glows but there is also something about her that doesn't. They sit down to eat and the phone rings and the butler with the weird noise answers it and whispers something to Tom in his ear and Tom leaves the table and then Daisy leaves and Besty tells Nick about how Tom has another women who lives in New York. they come back and Tom tells Nick that if it isn't dark when they are done with supper they are going to go the the stables and then the phone rings again and Daisy says that they aren't going to the stables.

Why doesn't daisy just divorce tom since he is having an affair? is that not the right thing to do in that time?
