Chapter 5

this chapter nick comes home and thinks that his house is on fire and he sees that it is just Gatsby's house, he has all his lights on and he is out staring at it from his lawn.. he talks to nick and offers him a job and also hints to him that his lawn needs mowed. nick tells Gatsby that he invited daisy down for tea. the next day Gatsby's Gardner comes and tells nick that Gatsby sent him to mow is lawn. it is raining and Gatsby says it should stop by 4. he gets nervous and thinks that no one is coming for tea because it is too late and nick says not to worry it is 2 minutes until 4 when they hear a car pull in nicks lane and it is daisy.. he brings her in and to his surprise no one is in the living room and then Gatsby rings the door bell.. nick leaves them alone for 30 minutes and does to a tree that is like a blanket against the rain.. the rain stops and nick goes in and finds them face to face on the sofa daisy had been crying and when she saw nick she jumped up and started wiping her eyes. daisy goes up stairs to clean her face because Gatsby wants to show her and nick the house. nick and Gatsby wait outside and nick tries to ask him about what he does for work and Gatsby asks if he is referring to the question about nick working but before he could answer Daisy came out.
