Chapter 21

they go back to formation and other soldiers are mocking them, Henry looks back at the battle field and realizes that what seemed to be so big was actually really small. the commander who talked bad about the regiment comes up and call them mud diggers and this makes the soldiers of the 304Th regiment very angry and a big fuss is brought up and everyone is talking among themselves. as all the men are talking two soldier come up and tell Henry and Wilson they over heard the lieutenant talking and he said that they are probably the strongest and the best in the regiment and they try and act like it is no big deal but inside they are both very satisfied and have new confidence in the war.
