Chapter 3

The Chapter opens up and it says how the brave worried soldiers slept. they got up early and started on a path and as they went along they were counting miles with their fingers, they also started to grumble and complain. they started to hear guns firing but Henry thought that is was thunder. Henry started to expect a battle scene and try to picture one, he got one in his head but when they actually got there he said that nothing looked like he expected. they came upon a dead soldier that was an enemy and saw that the soles of his shoes were warn very thin and he looked as if he was staring at the sky, i think it spooked the younger soldiers. the youth and the loud soldier were talking while all of the battle was happening (yelling) and they were saying how they would rather be anywhere but here, and i think that then the loud soldier gets shot because he says that he is going to die? But then he says that it is his first and last battle.. because he can feel it? so i was confused on that part?
Henry wishes he was home because he realizes that he misses the cows that he had, even though when he was home he hated them i think that he is worried because he feels that he isn't in the right place.
