• The title of the story means that when you are fighting in battle and you are still alive but you are hurt and no one is around or to busy to help, Henry says how he would never want to be.
  

2. What is the importance of the tattered man? What does he represent?

• It shows how gruesome the war is, i think that when the youth and Henry see it, it makes them realize wow, this is real this is the real thing.
  

3. What role does Henry's mother play while he is away from her?

• She makes sure he knows that she will be home no matter what and also if anything gets a hole like his socks he needs to just send them home and she will sew them for him. she is really over protective.
